My dear family, friends, and acquaintances,
It has been a long and tough year. The COVID-19 pandemic does not respect borders and is a force-multiplier. We have witnessed and continue to witness its devastating impact on the premature loss of human lives, our mental well-being, and social injustices, on top of economic losses.
Some of us have been fortunate enough to bear the fruits of the Herculean efforts of scientists globally that led to multiple COVID-19 vaccines. Recently, we have also seen the impact of these vaccines at preventing further loss of precious human lives and relieve pressure on our healthcare systems.
However, this has not been true for the majority of the world. Our collective efforts matter now more than ever. Containing the pandemic globally through a swift and global vaccination campaign is crucial to save lives and strengthen economies.
I reach out to you in the world's time of need. Should you be able, I'd love for you to join me in donating to help UNICEF deliver 2 billion vaccines around the world by the end of this year. I'm going to start by donating £500 and hope to reach a goal of £3000.
As much as it might hard to believe, you can make a difference too. Let's give the world a shot!
Through hardships to the stars,
