ED vs AMU Summer Sporting Challenge
We did it
On 14th June 2021 we successfully raised £902 ( + est. £183.50 Gift Aid ) with 101 supporters in 28 days

Run or walk as far as you can in the first week of June, submit your distance and the team with the highest total is victorious!

If you make a donation to UNICEF UK using Crowdfunder, you confirm you are aged 18 or over, and understand that UNICEF UK may receive information about you. If you choose to add Gift Aid to your donation this information will include your name, address and donation details, including any message you add. We will use your information to process any Gift Aid claim and for analysis purposes.

Taking care of your information is really important to us. We promise to keep your details safe and we’ll never sell or swap your information with any other organisation. Our Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use and store your personal information.

Team members record their walking or running activities from Monday 31 May – Sunday 6 June inclusive on an app (e.g. strava, apple health) or a pedometer and the weekly total is added to the team scorecard. The winning team is the one with the highest mileage at the end of the week.

Team members can run or walk as far as they like and wherever they like (including at work) whilst adhering to government advice.

If you are counting steps, please convert these using the following website: http://www.kylesconverter.com/length/steps-to-kilometers

Screenshots of your activities, added up to a weekly total in km should be submitted to the team leaders as evidence – for ED please send to [email protected], for AMU send to [email protected]  Entries must be in by midnight on Sunday 6th June.

Team members must be employed by the specialty team in the week of the challenge (but not necessarily in work – i.e. can be on leave)

Each team member pays an entry fee (anything from £2 upwards) which goes toward the charity total. We have chosen Vaccinaid, a global health project working to provide which provides vaccines, test and treatments to countries around the world where they are most needed. A fundraising page has been set up for this purpose:  – please attach a name to your donation so we can see who has entered. Donations can be made retrospectively but mileage will not be counted if the donation has not been made by the cut off time.

Each team’s scorecard may be scrutinized by the opposing team for fairness

Good luck and happy striding!

Donations made to UNICEF’s VaccinAid appeal will go towards UNICEF’s work to purchase and deliver Covid-19 vaccines, tests and treatment to bring an end to the pandemic. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed UNICEF’s funding requirements for this appeal, your donation will go towards the Children’s Emergency Fund.
